Because in-vehicle air isn't all that healthy

Studies have actually shown that the air inside vehicles contains higher levels of air pollution than on the road outside, which could lead to health issues for motorists and passengers who spend too much time behind the wheels.

There have been accessories trying to reduce the harmful pollutants inside the car but Xiaomi’s latest Air Purifier for cars might actually be the best device for the job. It is essentially a minified model of their bestselling Mi Air Purifiers and comes with the necessary to secure it to the back of your rear car seats.

Measuring just 38cm wide, the Mi Car Air Purifier is no slouch – it pushes an incredible 60 cubic metres of air per hour and eats up micro PM2.5 pollutants with its filter built by Toray, a Japan-based filter manufacturer. As such, it is capable of cleaning the air completely inside a salon car in just three minutes according to tests done by Xiaomi.

The device is powered via a car charger (with 4.5m cable) and comes with Bluetooth 4.1 that lets the driver check the air quality using Mi Home mobile app.

Priced at ¥449 (est~S$94), the Mi Car Air Purifier is a fairly small investment to keep the air inside your vehicle pollution-free, particularly if you have small children in the family. It is currently only selling officially in China but you can purchase one from this Qoo10 seller at roughly forty bucks more.
