Starting from September this year, Singaporeans and Permanent Residents will be able to enjoy affordable rates when going for health screenings at Polyclinics and GPs.
The initiative called Screen for Life is a national screening programme by Health Promotion Board (HPB) that offers subsidised rates for health screenings, recommended based on age and gender.
Screen for Life covers screening up to 5 chronic diseases including diabetes, cervical cancer, colorectal cancer and cardiovascular risks.
The public can find out the recommended types of and how often they should go for health screening by entering their gender, birth month and year, and location from the Screen for Life page here.
With the new programme, health screening for the pioneer generation will be free of charge, CHAS card holders at $2 and all other eligible Singaporeans at $5. The fee covers costs of the test, doctor consultation for the first visit and the first follow-up consultation, if required.
