At first, it looks just like any other mineral water, except it isn’t. The latest buzz on the Internet towards the end of last year had left many puzzled how Suntory managed to create a crystal clear transparent drink that tastes just like milk tea.
It’s no trickery or artificial flavouring. According to Suntory, the drink is made using water vapour that passes through actual tea leaves to derive the natural tea flavour we are familiar with. See below video explaining how it’s made (in Japanese).
If you haven’t tried it or can’t find it at a FairPrice near you, now’s your chance to grab one at Cheers outlets from 5 January onwards. The Suntory Morning Milk Tea and Lemon Tea will be available at a promotional price of S$2.30 per bottle, only while stocks last.
