The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has officially released the latest gazette on the public holidays in 2019.

According to the list, there will be a total of five long weekends next year. Good Friday and National Day fall on Friday while Vesak Day, Hari Raya Haji and Deepavali fall on Sunday (following Monday will be a public holiday).

In case you are wondering why it isn’t five long weekends, that’s because National Day and Hari Raya Haji fall on the same weekend, making it a super long weekend from 9 – 12 August 2019.

Making it 6 Long Weekends

Look at the list closer and you will find New Year’s Day and the start of Chinese New Year public holiday fall on a Tuesday. That means you can enjoy a long weekend simply by taking leave on both Mondays.
