New RydeX service is coming (Photo: Ryde Singapore)Grab’s domination maybe coming to end before it even started as another local ride-hailing app Ryde is on the verge of launching their own private-hire car service as soon as early May.
Called RydeX, it will be the new kid on the block after Grab x Uber acquisition. The company is currently wooing drivers to its platform with lower commission rates which also leads to more savings to passengers.
Ryde currently only offers carpooling service from car owners on its platform and has since seen a spike in user sign-ups after Uber’s exit from Singapore.
With RydeX, the base fare starts from $8 plus $0.60 per subsequent kilometre. Similar to Grab, users will be shown a fixed fare along with any surge pricing during high demand before booking.
Additionally, RydeX passengers can also offer tips starting from a dollar to their drivers after an enjoyable ride.
