Shake Shack S’pore launches ‘Dark Meat’ Hot Chicken Burger for $10.80 at all outlets from Mar 21

McSpicy competitor?

Can Shake Shack’s new Dark Meat Hot Chicken burger compete with the McSpicy?

Could this be the burger to challenge the top spot for the best spicy chicken burger in town? There’s only one way to find out.

Dark Meat Hot Chicken Burger

In case you are wondering, Shake Shack Singapore’s latest burger creation, named Dark Meat Hot Chicken Burger, doesn’t have anything to do with charcoal or charred meat but instead, it uses chicken thigh meat for the burger’s patty which is usually darker in colour.

According to Shake Shack, the all-natural thigh meat is also slow-cooked in a creamy buttermilk marinade before crisp-fried to perfection.

It also has nothing to do with Star Wars, but it does have a hot pepper blend since foodies here simply can’t resist spicy dishes.

Shake Shack describes it as “Crispy chicken thigh dusted with a hot pepper blend, all topped with slaw and pickles“.

It is priced at $10.80, slightly pricier than their signature Chicken Shack burger.

Some say it’s trying to compete with McDonald’s McSpicy burger and it’s easy to see why, although it comes with a premium price tag.

For those who can’t take the heat, you might want to order Shake Shack’s hand-spun milkshakes before digging in.

Being burger lovers ourselves, we still can’t wait to try it.
