Can’t resist matcha desserts and drinks? Here’s a new cafe in town you will want to visit.
First store outside Japan
Originating from Fukuoka, Japan specialising in matcha desserts, Hachi started after the owner travelled to Brooklyn, New York and was fascinated by the love of Japanese matcha in the city and brought ideas back to his hometown.
According to the cafe, they use quality single-origin matcha that is imported from a tea farm in Wazuka town found in the mountains of Uji, Kyoto which results in a more intense taste and aroma.
With four outlets in Fukuoka city, they have recently opened their first outlet outside of Japan here in Singapore, located along North Canal Rd opposite Hong Lim Park.
The cafe serves a variety of matcha desserts and drinks including roll cakes, matcha tiramisu, lattes and parfaits.
Here are some of the dishes that can be found at their cafes in Japan.
Matcha ice kacang, anyone?
In Japan, they also have bakery outlets that offers a selection of buns and matcha pastries.
Besides desserts and drinks, the cafe in Singapore also serves Japanese-inpsired comfort food.
Yum.
