New Wonders cafe in AMK serves mahjong-themed ice cream and drinks
Mahjong fans who are also ice cream lovers, here’s a new cafe to check out, especially if you stay in Ang Mo Kio.
Wonders Ice Cream Cafe
Located under a HDB block along Ang Mo Kio Ave 3, Wonders is a new ice cream cafe that has interiors and a menu filled with mahjong vibes.
According to the cafe owners, they turn their love of mahjong into a cafe concept offering waffles and ice cream treats. Even their cafe name Wonders (with the “W” character looking like 13) is synonymous with the rare winning hand Thirteen Wonders (十三幺) which is considered one of the hardest combinations to accomplish in mahjong games.
The ice cream selection also has names derived from mahjong terms, although they also come with flavours labelled in English.
It’s a relatively small cafe, so there’s a chance it might get crowded during certain hours of the day or during weekends.
Inside the cafe, customers are also greeted with more auspicious designs.
Be sure to order their drinks with auspicious latte art before you head to a lottery booth or your next mahjong game.
Besides ice cream treats, Wonders also served all-day Croffles and Waffles in Belgian (savoury, light and butter-flavoured) and Pandan Mochi flavours.
