Casio is once again turning heads with the return of its CRW-001 Ring Watch, a standout piece from its 50th Anniversary lineup.
This sleek digital timepiece, originally launched as a limited edition, is making a comeback in an online drop happening on 16 July at 11.00am — and yes, you can sign up now to be notified when it goes live.
Casio’s CRW-001 isn’t just a novelty. It’s rooted in the brand’s history, paying homage to the yubiwa (finger ring) pipe developed in 1946 by Kashio Seisakujo, the precursor to Casio Computer Co., Ltd.
That original ring-shaped invention was a commercial success in post-war Japan — and its profits funded the early development of Casio calculators. The CRW-001 draws from this spirit of ingenuity, blending history and innovation into a wearable piece of tech that fits on your finger.
Shrinking a classic digital watch to ring size is no small feat. Casio achieved this by downsizing a standard watch module by a factor of ten. The result is a ring-style watch that still delivers full digital functionality — displaying time down to the second, as well as calendar, dual time, and stopwatch features.
Its 6-digit LCD even includes a pulsing glow at the top of each hour, adding a quiet charm that reflects the flow of time.
The CRW-001 is constructed using metal injection molding (MIM) — a technique that fuses fine metal powder and resin into precisely formed molds. This process allows the watch’s full-metal case, band, and back to be molded as one seamless piece. Even the signature dimpled texture on the band is faithfully recreated.
A special glass adhesive seals the module tightly, making it water-resistant while still allowing for future battery replacements. Despite its small size, the CRW-001 features a three-button layout for simple, intuitive function switching.
The ring watch has a standard inner diameter of 20 mm, equivalent to a size 22 ring (US 10.5, EU U). To accommodate more users, each CRW-001 comes with two size-adjusting spacers — one for size 19 (19 mm) and another for size 16 (18 mm).
Each CRW-001 is housed in a refined ring box, complete with a soft Casio-branded velvet pouch. Whether you’re wearing it or gifting it, the presentation matches the product’s distinct personality.
