Singaporeans can now experience a different side of Japan, far beyond the neon-lit cities, through MUJI’s newly launched 4-day, 3-night cycling adventure in Hiroshima.
Ride the Shimanami Kaido with MUJI
At the heart of this tour is the iconic Shimanami Kaido — a 70-kilometre island-hopping route that connects Honshu to Shikoku via a series of bridges, offering breathtaking sea views and tranquil island life.
With support from local guides and thoughtfully curated stops, participants can pedal past Tatara Bridge’s striking architecture, soak in panoramic ocean vistas, and visit artisan workshops and temples nestled across six small islands. The tour strikes a perfect balance between gentle physical activity and immersive cultural experiences.
A Journey Through Onomichi and Miyajima
Beyond the ride, MUJI’s cycling itinerary brings travellers to the charming town of Onomichi, known for its sloping alleys and seaside nostalgia. From there, the journey continues to the spiritual sanctuary of Miyajima Island, home to the famous floating Torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine. Here, travellers can explore ancient shrines and stroll along heritage-laced promenades while tasting the region’s famed oysters and maple leaf-shaped cakes.
At $1,290 nett, the package includes meals, lodging, and local experiences, and is available for booking during the Hiroshima Toyo Carp Pop-up event at Plaza Singapura’s OPEN MUJI space.

Running alongside the cycling tour registration is the Hiroshima Toyo Carp’s first overseas pop-up store, open at MUJI Plaza Singapura from 19 July to 31 August 2025.
