Xiaomi Singapore shares how to identify fake Mi Power Banks

Verifying the serial no. online seems the easiest

For those who believe you have gotten a good deal on a Mi Power Bank, think again. Xiaomi has recently shared a note on Facebook cautioning customers on fakes floating around in the market, particularly if you are purchasing it from third-party sellers or marketplaces.

The note goes on to show how to identify the fake ones, either from the USB cable that comes with it, looking at the internal batteries or the PCB board colour within. Some of them are pretty technical and require you to open the power bank to spot the discrepancies but the easiest and quickest way is to verify the serial number from Xiaomi’s website.

If you are planning to buy one, we usually recommend buying from the official Xiaomi Singapore online store or from a trusted source that can prove the authenticity.
