Motorola is now in the race to create the most powerful yet affordable Android smartphones available worldwide, and doing a pretty good job at it. Moto G, officially announced at their launch event yesterday, is a mid-range smartphone priced at just US$179. At this price point you must be wondering if the specifications are any good, well Motorola fortunately doesn’t disappoint. Inside Moto G you will find:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.2GHz processor
  • Adreno 305 GPU good even for most graphic demanding games
  • 4.5″ display with 1280 x 720 HD resolution @ 329 ppi
  • 1GB RAM and 8GB or 16GB storage option with 2 years 50 GB storage free on Google Drive
  • 5 megapixel camera that does slow-mo videos (like the iPhone 5S)
  • No 4G LTE though, only HSPA+ 3G
  • 2070 mAh battery that promises 24hour mixed usage

Moto G will be available very soon and Singapore is included in their first wave of distribution, with Android 4.4 KitKat update guaranteed. We have no price confirmation but based on the US$179 announced price, we are hoping it will cost around S$250 without plan here in Singapore. We will update when we receive any confirmation on the price and availability.
