McDonald’s Hello Kitty Bubbly World Collectibles Goes Online To Avoid Cat-astrophic Rush

McDonald’s seems to get most of it’s marketing campaigns riding on success all the time, yet no amount of PR can rescue any company from bad press and antics derived from the mayhem mad rush for its Hello Kitty collectibles. Alas there’s no such thing as bad publicity – Hello Kitty here in Singapore is no doubt still an addictive marketing strategy for many businesses, McDonald’s Singapore isn’t going to give up on it just yet.

History aside, they have made a significant change. This time round McDonald’s have made the entire set of 6 x exclusive Hello Kitty Bubbly World collectibles available online for $80 starting today 23rd April 11am which includes free delivery via Speedpost or self collection at a Singpost POPstation. If you dread the crowd or couldn’t care less about their food, this is the only way you can get your hands on these adorable collectibles once and for all.

If for some reason you still prefer that old-school style and enjoy the experience of queueing and waiting for that different toy every Monday, McDonald’s is still offering the same scheme of things for you. Below is an official announcement taken from McDonald’s Facebook:

1. From 11am on 23 April, a Collectors’ Set will be available for online purchase, while stocks last. The set is priced at $80 and contains:
   – All 6 Hello Kitty Bubbly World plush toys
   – A 40th Anniversary Certificate
   – Six McDonald’s Extra Value Meal™ vouchers valued at $5 each.
   Price includes delivery by Speedpost or self-collection at a Singpost POPstation.

2. Individual characters will be available at our restaurants* from 28 April, 11 am. Priced at $4.95 each with purchase of an Extra Value Meal™, 1 new design will be available every Monday at 11am for 6 weeks! Each customer can buy up to a maximum of 4 Hello Kitty Bubbly World plush toys per store visit. While stocks last.

Do keep in mind that the Hello Kitty Bubbly World collectibles is not unlimited, they are still subjected to while stocks last basis so you better be on standby today 11am, lock and loaded in front of your computer to get your orders in. Let’s just hope McDonald’s servers are well prepared for the mass order.

Update 23rd April 2014, 12:24pm: McDonald’s Singapore website announced the Hello Kitty Bubbly World has sold out online suspended new orders to ease traffic. They will resume sales as soon as possible. Alternatively you can still visit their restaurants starting next Monday, 28th April 2014 to purchase individual plush toys with every Extra Value Meal™.

Update 24th April, 12:34am: Sales for the Hello Kitty Bubbly World has resumed. Loading is now more responsive but the management may temporarily halt new orders at different time to ensure a better experience for everyone.
