Everyone is talking about Power Rangers because of this fan-fiction video

Some love it, others hate it

You probably have seen it already, but if you haven’t here it is before it gets taken down. Note that this video is NSFW and filled with quite a bit of swearing, gore and violence, so you might want to stay away if you aren’t up for it.

Directed by Joseph Kahn, Power/Rangers is a bootleg reboot edition of the original Power Ranger series we all are familiar back in the 90s, though this one tells a post apocalyptic story where the rangers have grown up. No rainbows and sunshine here, the Power/Rangers film is a grim portrayal of post-traumas and betrayals.

Quite frankly, it’s a stark contrast to the original series and it’s no surprise some viewers don’t like it, Power Rangers is after all still very much a kids show. Jason David Frank, the original Green Ranger spoke out against the film on his Facebook page. And according to Joseph Kahn, Saban (the Power Rangers brand owners) is trying to shut down this bootleg film, since it possibly could affect the real Power Rangers reboot by Lionsgate and Saban.

The problem is the Power Rangers branding, a superhero team that we all relate to. Take away that branding and haters won’t hate, but then probably no one would have seen it. With over 10 million views already on Youtube, Power/Rangers has no doubt won a lot of fans, but it could also spell trouble for the producers as they could face legal action.
