Instagram has just announced they will be increasing the video recording length of the app to 60 seconds, a significant increase from the original 15 seconds previously. According to analytics, the average duration of a popular Facebook video is around 90 seconds which might be the reason behind the change, although Instagram has also found that there’s a more than 40% increase in the time people spent watching videos over the last six months.

The new update has been rolled out earlier this week and you can download it from App Store or Google Play. For iOS users, Instagram is also bringing back multi-clip video in the latest version.

You can learn more about the new update from Instagram’s official blog page here.
