Uber Singapore has just announced that they will start accepting cash payments when you book a ride through their mobile app. According to the company, cash payments still make up about 30% of all transactions in Singapore.
The move will also open doors for students and seniors who don’t currently own a credit card or are more comfortable with cash transactions. Uber also seeks to remove the fear factor for first-time riders with the cash option.
To choose Cash as a payment option, simply go to the ‘Payment’ section of the app and tap on ‘Cash’. After you have done that, there will be a new cash payment option when you request for a ride. At the end of the trip, pay the fare directly in cash to the driver.
