Sonos introduces new Amp to beef up your living room audio in many ways

Upgrade any speaker system

Looks sleek, doesn’t it?

At first glimpse, the new Sonos Amp the company introduced today looks like a souped-up futuristic amplifier for your home theatre system.

Except it isn’t just an amplifier like its name suggests. It also has a speaker hidden on top of the device making it a hybrid audio system that you can use to upgrade that pair of dusty speakers on your desk with its 125w per channel output.

What that actually means is you can use it as a standalone device by itself which supports Airplay 2 and more than 100 music streaming services. Then at the back, there’s an RCA input for supporting your turntable or legacy equipment, and finally, an HDMI port with ARC for your TV to create a surround system with the Amp as front speakers and separate wireless Sonos speakers at the rear.

Can’t wait to get one? It’s not available as of now but it will set you back by €699 or a little over S$1,000 when it finally ships in February next year.
