MSW Durian prices drop below $20 per kg, could fall even more in mid-December

Durian lovers heads up – your favourite fruit is getting some serious price cuts starting this month.

According to durian sellers, the prized Mao Shan Wang (MSW) durians from Pahang, Malaysia is now in season.

Prices are already coming down this week. Here’s a quick MSW price guide from popular durian stalls in Singapore:

  • Ah Seng Durian – $19/kg
  • Durian Kaki – $20/kg
  • Combat Durian Balestier – $18/kg
  • 227 Katong Durian – $19/kg
  • Kong Lee Hup Kee Trading – $19/kg
  • TOP Durian Station – $16/kg

Popular durian seller in Ghim Moh Market Ah Seng has also made this comment.

That means we could see prices falling even lower when the December supply from Pahang and Johor arrives, that is if you can tahan your cravings.

Could we see MSW durians hitting $10 per kg prices that happened earlier this year? Don’t bet on it but if it does happen, it will definitely be a belly good Christmas this year.
