A popular Bak Kut Teh place in Singapore is facing business troubles due to the impact from the COVID-19 pandemic.
May Close Down
According to Nigel, the second-generation owner of Founder Bak Kut Teh (发起人肉骨茶), their restaurants have been struggling even after Phase 2 when dine-in was permitted and will be shutting down if the situation doesn’t get better in the next couple of months.
Here’s his letter of appeal to the public to save his BKT business, which has been around for 42 years since his father started it.
Here’s a photo of Nigel and his father.
Due to the pandemic, the original founder (Nigel’s father) has even made his way down to prepare the Bak Kut Teh broth himself.
Confirm very original taste.
30% Set Meal Promotion
To attract more customers and a final bid to save the local homegrown brand, Founder Bak Kut Teh will be offering 30% off on their Curated Set Meals for dine-in customers.
The set meal promotions will be available till 17 August.
Bugis & Downtown East Outlets
Hotel Boss Outlet
The set meals cater to groups of 2 to 4 persons and mostly include their signature Popularity Bak Kut Teh, poached vegetables, pig’s trotter, youtiao (fried dough stick) and more.
Might want to drop by their outlets soon to enjoy if you are a BKT lover since it could well be the last chance.
