Here’s how you can still install Fortnite on your iPhone, even though Apple has removed it

You need to have it previously

Here’s how to get Fortnite back on your iPhone

Apple recently removed the popular shooter-survival game Fortnite from their App Store for violating their in-app payment policies, leaving gamers looking for ways to install it or resorting to buying Android phones.

There are even eBay listings selling iPhones with the game pre-installed for up to US$10,000.

Ridiculous.

Reinstalling Fortnite

According to tech news site The Verge, it turns out there’s actually a way to reinstall Fortnite on iPhones, except you will need to have it downloaded on your device before.

Here are the steps:

  • Go to the “My Purchases” section of the App Store (by tapping on your avatar)
  • After that, tap on “purchased,” then “My Purchases” to find all the iOS apps you have installed before
  • Search for “Fortnite”
  • The app should show up if you have installed it previously, tap on the cloud icon and start downloading it
  • Enjoy!

For those who wish to play it now on the iPhone without downloading it before, you’re out of luck.

The trick also works if any member of an Apple Family Sharing plan has ever downloaded Fortnite app on iOS in the past.

The Verge also states that users can also install update files but big patches or season updates will likely not be available until Epic (Fortnite’s company) resolves the issue with Apple, which could take a while.

Until then, iPhone gamers will just have to make do with this temporary fix.
