Hotpot with blue soup base now a thing in S’pore
While you might have tried many different hotpots including mala, tomato, and collagen, here’s a restaurant that offers a different kind of hotpot soup.
In blue.
Mysterious Blue Lagoon Hotpot
Available at Hai Xian Lao (海鲜捞) located in Shaw House along Orchard Rd, the hotpot buffet restaurant is now offering a soup variant in blue which they are calling it Mysterious Blue Lagoon Soup.
It’s not clear what ingredients are used to produce the blue colour broth but according to the restaurant, it’s not all looks and is actually healthy.
You can have it half-half with your favourite soup bases which includes Healthy Collagen, Herbal Soup, Tom Yum, Laksa, Sichuan Spicy Soup and many more.
Or have it all blue.
Buffet Pricing
Steamboat buffet is available from 11am – 11pm daily, minimum 2 pax with a dining time limit of 90 minutes.
Here’s the price breakdown:
- Adult: $34.80++ per pax
- Child (4 – 13 years): $15.80++ per pax
- Senior (above 60): $23.80++ per pax

Besides seafood, meat and vegetables, there are also side dishes to choose from including Prawn-Paste Chicken Wings, Spicy Samosa, Panko Fried Oyster, Cripsy Golden Mantou and more.
