
Black is best: Swee Choon’s Black Sesame Lava Bao & Truffle Xiao Long Bao
Dim sum lovers will be familiar with Swee Choon Tim Sum Restaurant’s signature dishes such as their Mee-Suah Kueh, Portuguese Egg Tarts, Drunken Chicken, Salted Egg Yolk Custard Bun and more.

With the Covid pandemic affecting the F&B industry, Swee Choon has also rolled out a selection of frozen dim sum so that fans can continue enjoying them at the comfort of their own homes.
Items not on the menu
Besides the usual dim sum dishes, we spotted some new items from their Frozen Dim Sum series that are not shown on their dine-in menu.
They include the Black Sesame Lava Bao which is a charcoal bun that oozes black sesame filling.
There’s also a limited edition Truffle Xiao Long Bao which was introduced earlier this year that features Swee Choon’s popular Xiao Long Bao dish infused with truffle flavour.
The broth-filled dumplings are also wrapped with a thin black charcoal pastry skin.
According to the restaurant, the special dish is also available for dine-in and takeaway for a limited period.
Also from the frozen series, the Tofu Bomb features crispy beancurd skin stuffed with diced prawns, minced pork, chives and very spicy chilli that will guarantee a medley of umami flavours in every bite.
For chilli lovers, you might want to add Swee Choon’s homemade Hae Bi Hiam Chilli before checking out.
