The most affordable Basicbook laptop from Korea is now available in S’pore

This laptop should be on your shopping list if you’re looking for a basic laptop for your kids, for travel or simply as a spare.

Created by Korean brand BASICS which claims it has teamed up with top-tier suppliers such as Microsoft, Intel and BOE, they have set up an official store on Qoo10 Singapore offering their latest 3rd generation of Basicbook 14 laptop for just $408 (after Qoo10 coupon discount).

Despite its affordable price, the laptop is reasonably well-specced with a Celeron N5100 processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage (M.2 2280).

Other features of the laptop include a 14.1-inch FHD IPS display, multiple ports including mini-HDMI, USB-C, 3.5mm audio port, and even an SD card slot. It weighs only 1.35kg which is light enough to carry around for work on the go or your next vacation overseas.

The Basicbook 14 comes pre-installed with genuine Windows 11 Pro although you might need to change the language from Korean to English after receiving it.

According to a customer who has done a quick teardown, the memory and SSD storage are easily upgradeable simply by opening up the back cover.

However, doing that might void the warranty since BASICS does offer a 1-year warranty period for the laptop.

At just $408, the Basicbook 14 is probably one of the cheapest laptops you can buy in Singapore with pretty decent hardware.
