For fans of all things Japanese, the annual Sakura event at Gardens by the Bay is here again.
Sakura @ Flower Dome 2023
This year’s Sakura floral display which takes place in Flower Dome from 11 March to 9 April is inspired by the theme of train travel, transforming the conservatory into a landscape evocative of a scenic train journey across the most beautiful spots of Japan.
Here are some photos from Gardens by the Bay showcasing the Japanese-themed installations.
This year’s cherry blossom event will also feature Peach Blossoms, also known as momo in Japan. The peach tree not only bears juicy fruits but also produces beautiful flowers with a pleasant fragrance.
An update from Gardens by the Bay says that buds are slowly emerging, which explains why the cherry blossom trees are looking a little bare at the moment.
A closeup shot of one of the trees reveals that the sakura flowers could bloom anytime.
Besides experiencing sakura trees here in Singapore, there will also be a Pokémon Forest featuring all-time favourite characters including Snorlax, Eevee, Charmander and of course Pikachu.
Here are a couple of photos from a local Instagrammer who visited the Flower Dome on the first day of the Sakura event.
Definitely lots of photo opportunities for Pokémon fans.

- Live Chado a.k.a. The Way of Tea (from 19 March)
- JCC Cinema: Belle (19 March | 4.30pm – 6.30pm)
