The highly anticipated reopening of the Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden Waterplay at the Singapore Botanic Gardens brings joy to all little adventurers. With an expansion that has more than tripled its original size, this exciting waterplay area is now an even bigger haven for kids to explore nature through interactive play.

Nature-Inspired Play for the Little Ones

What makes the newly expanded space even more special is how it connects kids with nature, showcasing the wonders of the water cycle. From splashing in the shallow pools to running through a misty rainbow arch, the design invites children to learn and play while experiencing the natural world.

What You Can Expect:

  • Giant Splash Bucket: Watch out for a big splash that mimics the sensation of a heavy downpour, perfect for cooling off on a hot day.
  • Misty Rainbow Arch: A vibrant, misty rainbow arch that kids can run through, adding an element of magic to the playtime experience.
  • Splash Zone: This area features dancing water jets, a shallow pool, and miniature hills that demonstrate the concept of runoff in a fun and engaging way.
  • Umbrella Fountains: These fountains gently pour water, creating a soft rainfall effect that will surely captivate young minds.

  • Admission: Free
  • Opening Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 8am to 7pm (last admission at 6:30pm). Closed every Monday.

Getting There:

  • By Car/Taxi:
    • From Dunearn Road – Turn right at the Dunearn-Kheam Hock Road junction, enter NUS Bukit Timah Campus, and turn right into Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden.
    • From Bukit Timah Road – Turn left at the Bukit Timah-Kheam Hock Road junction, enter NUS Bukit Timah Campus, and turn right after the car park gantry.
    • Parking is available at Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden and NUS Bukit Timah Campus.
  • By Bus:
    • SBS Bus No. 48, 66, 151, 153, 154, 156, 170, 186, and SMRT Bus No. 67, 171. Alight at Bukit Timah Road, NUS Bukit Timah Campus bus stop.
  • By MRT (Circle & Downtown Lines):
    • Alight at Eco Garden (North end of Singapore Botanic Gardens) via the Botanic Gardens Station. It’s a 10-minute walk from the station to the garden.

A Safe and Fun Environment

The waterplay area is specifically designed for children aged 14 and below, and for safety, children aged 12 and below must be accompanied by an adult.
