Sanpoutei Ramen Marks 10 Years in Singapore with New Paragon Outlet and Exclusive Menu

From Niigata to Orchard

A decade of soulful ramen — Sanpoutei opens its 3rd outlet with new dishes to savour

Celebrating a decade of quietly refined ramen craftsmanship in Singapore, Sanpoutei Ramen opens the doors to its third local outlet — this time at Paragon Shopping Centre, Orchard Road.

This new chapter not only reflects the brand’s growth, but also deepens its roots in local culinary culture with exclusive dishes and a thoughtfully designed space.

A Heritage Brand with a Modern Soul

Founded in Niigata, Japan in 1967, Sanpoutei Ramen brings over 50 years of ramen tradition to the table. Since its debut in Singapore in 2014, the brand has earned a loyal following for its clear, umami-rich broths and handmade noodles.

The new 1,130-square-foot Paragon outlet continues this legacy, seating 46 guests in a setting that blends minimalist Japanese design with contemporary urban cues.

Anchoring the store’s theme is a subtle homage to Mt. Fuji, complemented by soft ambient lighting and a signature lantern that evokes the intimacy of Japan’s ramen alleyways. The result is a modern dining space that encourages slow, thoughtful meals — a core philosophy of the brand.

Exclusive at Paragon: Kombu-Infused Tsukemen

One of the highlights of the new outlet is the Kombu-Infused Tsukemen (S$18), a cold noodle dish that elevates the ramen experience with a three-step ritual: taste, dip, sip.

The noodles are steeped in a bath of Rishiri and Gagome kombu from Hokkaido, imbuing them with a clean umami character. Diners are invited to enjoy the noodles on their own first, then dip them into a soy-based tare sauce mellowed by kelp, and finally finish the dish with a warm kombu-bonito broth — known as Wari Soup. It’s a quiet showcase of Sanpoutei’s culinary restraint and mastery.

For the Purists: Shoyu Ramen Reimagined

Long-time fans of the brand will appreciate the elevated Shoyu Ramen (from S$15), where traditional flavours are redefined with a Paragon-exclusive broth made from dried flying fish (Ago) and Rishiri kombu, simmered for over seven hours. Each bowl is topped with house-made noodles, chashu, bamboo shoots, spinach, nori, and a marinated ajitsuke tamago — a combination rooted in tradition yet refined in execution.

Other Signature Dishes Worth Noting

Sanpoutei’s menu continues to offer a variety of crowd-pleasers:

Maze Soba with Chashu and Chicken Soup – A dry noodle dish rich in sardine oil and shoyu, served with a comforting side of chicken broth.

Nikumori Spicy Rich Miso Ramen – A bolder, red-hued bowl featuring tender pork, greens, and a medium-spicy miso base.

Butariki Don – A rice bowl topped with pork slices and raw egg yolk, striking a balance between richness and simplicity.

Chashu Don (Mini) – A lighter option featuring soft-boiled eggs, greens, and seasoned chashu, drizzled with Japanese mayo.

A Taste of Niigata in Every Sip

To complement the food, Sanpoutei’s Niigata Kiki-Zake Set offers a tasting flight of premium sake, carefully selected to reflect the region’s heritage and brewing expertise. It’s a fitting addition to the menu for those looking to pair their meal with traditional Japanese spirits.

Whether you’re revisiting your favourites or discovering the nuances of tsukemen for the first time, Sanpoutei’s newest store is an invitation to reconnect with the art of ramen — one bowl at a time.
