Celebrate Local Culture: Peranakan Cable Car Rides at S$4 for 2 in Sentosa Line Promo
Families looking for a unique way to spend the June school holidays can now enjoy a colourful ride through heritage and creativity high above Sentosa’s lush scenery.
To mark the 10th anniversary of the Singapore Cable Car – Sentosa Line, the cabins have undergone a vibrant makeover, and a new series of cultural workshops is now taking place at Siloso Point Station.
A Ride Through Peranakan Heritage
As part of this anniversary celebration, all 51 cable car cabins have been transformed with beautiful designs inspired by Peranakan shophouses along Koon Seng Road. The pastel-toned exteriors feature floral motifs and intricate tile patterns drawn from the rich traditions of Peranakan design.
Inside, the cabins continue the visual journey, bringing guests into a space filled with nostalgic colour and charm — making every ride a cultural experience.
For a limited time, Singaporeans and local residents can enjoy a special 1-for-1 promotion on the Sentosa Line. From now until 31 August 2025, a round trip for two is priced at only $4, or guests can opt for unlimited rides in a day for two at $14. Tickets are available only at the Sentosa Line’s Sensoryscape Station counter.
Explore Crafts at Siloso Point Station
At the heart of this celebration is a new lineup of family-friendly workshops hosted at the base of the Sentosa Line. Held on the last weekend of each month, these hands-on sessions give participants a chance to explore traditional crafts in a relaxed and guided setting.
Kicking off the series is Thread Lightly by Yenidraws, a basic embroidery workshop led by self-taught local artist and mum’preneur Yeni Lim. Inspired by everyday beauty — from tiffin carriers to blooming bougainvillaea — Yeni’s artwork is a gentle nod to the cherished details of Singapore life. In her workshop, guests will embroider their own Singapore Cable Car tea towel, decorated with her original Peranakan-style design.
The workshop will take place on 29 June, 26 July, and 27 July 2025, with two sessions each day at 11:00AM and 3:00PM. Each session lasts 90 minutes and is suitable for children aged 6 and above (children must be accompanied by an adult). All materials are included, and each session is capped at 20 participants for a cosy and focused experience.
Workshop bundles are available now via Mount Faber Leisure Group’s online store. Local residents can purchase a workshop and round trip ride bundle for $38, while the standard price is $45.
More to Come
The celebration doesn’t end there. More workshops inspired by Peranakan heritage and local crafts will be added in the coming months, offering something fresh for every visit. Visitors can stay updated on upcoming sessions by checking Mount Faber Leisure Group’s website.
