Tiong Bahru Bakery and Lau Pa Sat reimagine local hawker flavours in a special SG60 pastry collection
To celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday, Tiong Bahru Bakery (TBB) has teamed up with iconic hawker centre Lau Pa Sat to launch a playful, nostalgic pastry collection that reimagines local favourites through a French patisserie lens.
Available from 1 to 31 August 2025 at all TBB outlets, this limited-time menu bridges heritage and innovation with five unique creations — each infused with a bold Singaporean soul.
Where Satay Meets Lamination
At the heart of the SG60 collection is a rich, peanuty satay sauce co-developed with Lau Pa Sat. Inspired by the smoky skewers from Boon Tat Street’s Satay Street, this sauce has been thoughtfully adapted by TBB’s R&D team to complement both sweet and savoury formats — layered into flaky pastries and even glazed over kouign amanns.
The Satay Beef Croissant is a standout: golden, buttery pastry stuffed with slow-cooked beef satay, crunchy pickled vegetables and a generous slick of that signature sauce.
For those with a sweet tooth, the Satay White Chocolate Kouign Amann offers a caramelised swirl topped with white chocolate chips and a subtle satay glaze — smoky, nutty and unexpectedly delightful.
A Local Breakfast Remix
TBB’s take on the humble nasi lemak comes in the form of the Nasi Sambal Danish — a multi-layered creation filled with coconut rice and mornay sauce, crowned with a soft-baked egg, sambal, and crunchy ikan bilis on the side. It’s wrapped like a Danish but tastes like a morning at a hawker centre.
Adding to the nostalgic line-up are two soft, chewy Shio Pan buns, available at select outlets. The Milo Dinosaur Shio Pan is generously filled with Milo cream and dusted with even more Milo powder, while the Teh C Shio Pan captures the unmistakable taste of local milk tea in a lightly sweetened, buttery bun topped with a swirl of cream.
Café-Hop with the SG60 Sip & Stroll
As part of the celebration, TBB and its sister brand Common Man Coffee Roasters are inviting customers to explore the city through the SG60 Sip & Stroll. Pick up a map at any outlet, collect stamps from five locations near heritage landmarks, and redeem vouchers worth $60. Each visit also earns you a free coffee with a $6 spend — a modern twist on the old-school loyalty card.
A Pastry-Led Ode to Singapore
With satay-slicked kouign amanns, Milo-dusted buns and sambal-packed danishes, TBB’s SG60 collection is a love letter to Singapore — full of warmth, nostalgia and creativity. Whether you’re indulging in a flaky croissant or sipping your way through the city, this collaboration invites everyone to celebrate SG60 one bite (or sip) at a time.
