HK-Famous Ging Sun Ho Marks SG60 with Fiery Laksa Soup Dumplings Inspired by Local Flavours

Slurp up the SG60 spirit

Celebrating 60 years of Singapore with a soupy surprise — meet Ging Sun Ho’s Laksa Xiao Long Bao

Ging Sun Ho is turning up the heat for Singapore’s 60th birthday with a piping-hot tribute to one of the nation’s most beloved dishes: laksa.

A Laksa-Laced Xiao Long Bao to Celebrate Singapore’s 60th

Launching 29 July 2025, the brand introduces its latest creation — Steamed Chicken Laksa Soup Dumplings, priced at $4.0 for 2 pieces and $6.6 for 4. Available for a limited time through late September, these locally-inspired dumplings bring a bold new twist to traditional xiao long bao.

Wrapped in a delicate skin and brimming with a fragrant broth, each dumpling is packed with minced shrimp and tender chicken thigh seasoned with the unmistakable flavours of laksa — think garlic, turmeric, and laksa leaf. The result? A juicy, aromatic bite that captures the essence of Singaporean hawker culture in one mouthful.

New Dishes Bring More Comfort to the Table

Alongside the SG60 laksa creation, Ging Sun Ho has rolled out a series of new dishes since 21 July, each carrying the brand’s signature balance of comfort, nostalgia, and generous portions.

One highlight is the Stewed Tender Chicken Noodles in Soup ($8.8) — a bowl of delicate noodles in clear broth, served with green cabbage and fall-apart-tender chicken that’s perfect for rainy days. For rice lovers, the Shanghainese Jinhua Ham with Fried Veggie Rice ($14.8) offers a wok-tossed, umami-packed combination of salted meat, greens and fluffy grains.

Kids and the young at heart can dig into the Deep-Fried Shanghainese Pork Chop with Fried Rice ($16.8) — crispy, juicy pork paired with comforting egg fried rice, a simple crowd-pleaser.

Fusion Flavours with Familiar Roots

For noodle fans, the Shrimp with Scallion Oil Noodles ($12.2) is a springy, slurp-worthy option topped with juicy prawns and finished with housemade scallion oil. Spice lovers will enjoy the Sichuan Spicy Wontons (4pcs) with Chilli Oil, paired with Marinated Egg and Scallion Oil Noodles ($14.0) — a flavour-packed combo with just the right amount of heat.

The line-up also includes a Japanese-inspired take on a Shanghainese classic: Japanese-Style Scallion Oil Noodles ($11.0), dressed in bonito flakes, nori, and minced pork for a savoury, textured bowl that looks as good as it tastes.
