Add 2GB extra storage to your Google Drive with this security check

This is not a phishing scam

Today Google is asking you to perform a simple security check on your account, making sure that you have your backup phones and email addresses in check, as well as going through the apps that have access to your information.

In return for making your account a little safer, Google is giving away 2GB to users who completed the security checks. Once you have done it, you will be able to see the extra 2GB showing up on your Google Drive upgrade page (although we notice it won’t show up on the Google Drive folders page for some reason).

2GB clearly isn’t a lot these days, but since it’s free and since the storage space is shared with your Gmail/Google Apps account, a little goes a long way. The free space giveaway coincides with Safer Internet Day (SID) 2016.
