Starbucks Singapore turns 23 tomorrow and they will be releasing a rather special merchandise for members.
Available from 14 December, fans will be able to find a new eco-friendly Starbucks Card in stores that isn’t made from plastic.
Yes, burlap coffee bags
Believe it or not, the cards are made from burlap, a type of woven fabric that’s commonly used for transporting coffee bags from the mountains and across the seas.
They look like the bags in the photo below.
The Special Edition Starbucks Card you see in the photo above is made from recycled burlap coffee bags.
Starbucks has done something similar before in the past, although these cards can be pretty rare which makes it somewhat of a collector’s item.
Here’s one that was released in the states a few years back.
Minimum spending required
The burlap card (no loaded value) is available for Starbucks Rewards members and is yours for free when you spend a minimum of $50 in a single receipt, while stocks last.
The card also comes with a cardholder, which is made from burlap fabric as well.
Payment must be made with your Starbucks Card and it is limited to 1 card per member.
